Our 1940s home has been renovated and updated throughout. Please read the listing info before booking and let us know if you have any questions. :) Our historical neighborhood is referred to as the "Tree Streets" because each street going east to west is named after a tree. There are eleven in total. See if you can find them all! This listing is for one private room in a three bedroom, two bathroom house occupied by the hosts (myself, my husband, and our two small sons). Guests will have access to the entire second floor (a bedroom with an attached bath) as their private living space. A somewhat steep staircase (with railing) provides access to the second floor. There is a queen bed and a full/double size pull-out bed in the walk-in closet for an additional two guests. We can also set up a twin floor mattress upstairs if needed. Guests have access to the entire house except the master bedroom and nursery. This includes access to a full kitchen, breakfast nook, dining room, living room, upstairs room and bathroom, main floor bathroom (shared space), laundry/utility room, and backyard. Just clean up after yourself! You are welcome to park in front of the house. Please note that we have two cats and a baby.

Our two bedroom, one bathroom basement unit is only 3 minutes from downtown Elko and freeway exits. It stays cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. We are still in the process of decorating. The town of Eureka is a photographic remnant of the 19th century mining boom with many historic structures. The surrounding area provides hiking, biking, camping, hot springs, hunting, fishing, and off roading. Lots to explore here, and a network of well maintained dirt roads leads you to ghost towns, mining camps, historic homesteads and wild life in abundance. Wild horses roam across our valleys and mountain ranges. Bring your ATV! And your camera. The town of Eureka offers all amenities: restaurants, historical museum, yearly events, year-round in-door swimming, laundry facilities, and brand new grocery store. And you might catch a show at the Eureka Opera House, restored to its former glory. Eureka is almost always sunny, even in the winter. Crime is unheard of. People are friendly here if you are, but if you prefer anonymity Eureka will let you have your way. Stay here for a week, and it’s like you’ve been away for a year.

The Colonnade Hotel, built as a meeting house in 1880 for the Italian Benevolent Society. It was occupied for less than ten years and then left vacant until 1938.
